In case, if you are using ProLific datacables, you can download the
corresponding drivers from official ProLific
website (smart
I/O IC -> USB 1.1 -> PL-2303 USB to serial bridge). In case, if
you are using genuine Nokia datacable, you can download corresponding
drivers from official Nokia
website Driver
installation procedure should correspond common rules for USB devices
installation.
02.02.02Q.
I have Nokia 7210 (6610, 7250, 6100, 6800) phone. I'm using DKU-5
cable for connection. I cannot establish the connection! 02.02.02A.
We support DKU-5 connectivity beginning with version 2.1.4.5. Just
check, whether you have set DKU-5 option in 'Tools' -> 'Options'
-> 'Connection and common' and installed cable drivers properly.
Sometimes, one need to specify virtual COM port directly for DKU-5
cable from third-party manufacturers.
In this case you should properly install virtual COM port emulation
drivers, which should come with the cable, set COM port
directly in 'Tools' -> 'Options' -> 'Connection and Common' ->
'Connection' section -> 'Add port' button. After adding COM port,
just change connection type to DLR-3/DLR-3p from DAU-9p default
setting. To do so, left-click once on 'Dau-9p' sign to select this
item and click again or press spacebarr to recall pop-up menu. Here
you should select 'DLR-3/DLR-3p' cable type. If the cable came
without any drivers, there is possibility, that the cable suits for
technical purposes only, or you should download the drivers
separately, as described above.
02.02.03Q.
I cannot connect 5110, 5130, 5150, 5190, 6110, 6130, 6150, 6190
phones to your program, using original Nokia DLR-3(p) cable. What
should I do? 02.02.03A. You can connect these phones, using
DAU-9p cable only. DLR-3 and DLR-3p cables don't support these
models, even if they have the same plug.
02.02.04Q.
I don't have COM (RS-232) serial ports on my PC, only USB ports are
available. Is there a chance to connect any phone, using
cable? 02.02.04A. Certainly! Some USB cables may support
USB connectivity. In this case you will need specific driver for
COM-port emulation on USB cable.
02.02.05Q.
I have USB cable. Why do I need any drivers? I've been told, that
Windows will discover USB device automatically. 02.02.05A.
Unfortunately, this isn't true for all devices. Windows operating
system doesn't have any standard USB to serial bridge cable, as the
chipsets may differ for various cables. Therefore, one needs to
install corresponding virtual COM port emulation drivers, as
described above.
02.02.06Q.
I own Nokia 5510 and have original Nokia USB DKE-2 cable and I've
found even emulation drivers for it, but I still cannot use your
software! 02.02.06A. Original 5510 USB-to-USB cables were
designed for MP3 uploading only. To manage you phonebook, you will
need standard F-Bus cable with PIN-plug, which connects under the
phone battery the same one, as for 3310 or 3330 phone, for example.
Please note, that not all 3310 or 3330 cables are fully compatible
with 5510 phone. In this case we suggest to try the connection with
trial version of our program: www.opm-2.com/download/opm2.zip
02.02.07Q.
I've got Nokia 3300 phone and DKU-2 cable. Can I use it for data
synchronization? DKU-5 option in your program doesn't seem to
function neither with DKU-2, nor with DKU-5 cable. 02.02.07A.
The situation is similar to described above for 5510. As its
predecessor, Nokia 3300 is not one device. It is two devices in one
frame: the phone itself and MP-3 device and memory card reader.
Therefore, DKU-2 cable doesn't have any direct contacts with phone
section. It suits only for uploading MP3 of MP3 player and for disk
management purposes. Unlike 5510's, 3300 model's technological plug
is not compatible with any other model. Therefore, you should find
F-Bus cable, designed for 3300 model only. Please, note: this type of
connection is unofficial, therefore it may be recognized as reason
for cancelling warranty in official Nokia service centre!
02.02.08Q.
I'm using F-Bus cable and operating system, built on NT technology
(NT 4.0, 2000, XP), but I cannot connect your program
still. 02.02.08A. Unfortunately, some PC motherboards don't
support F-Bus mode under these operating systems, but under legacy
Win32 (95 OSR-2/98/ME) operating systems only. Anyhow, we suggest to
test compatibility with the trial version of Oxygen Phone Manager II
www.opm-2.com/download/opm2.zip
It may function in case, if you change IRQ assigned to this very COM
port to another free one, but, unfortunately, we cannot guarantee the
result. Changing IRQ procedure may differ for various PC mainboards.
Please, refer to your mainboard's manual for more details about
changing IRQ number.
02.02.09Q.
I've bought F-Bus cable and it has neither COM, nor USB plug, but
PS-2 one (like mouse or keyboard cable). Can I use this for data
synchronization? 02.02.09A. PS-2 cables are of M-Bus (half
duplex, 9600 bit/s max speed) type only and they suit for service
needs only. Unfortunately, you cannot use this cable anyway for data
synchronization with any existing program from any manufacturer. But,
some cable manufacturers, has begun to release new F-Bus cables,
which do require special PS/2 to COM (or PS/2 to USB) adaptor.
02.02.10Q.
I've bought F-bus cable and 8310 (8390, 6510, 6500, 6590) GSM phone.
I wonder, how can I connect it to the phone? 02.02.10A. You
should replace the battery, the SIM card, the SIM card's holder. Then
you should put the SIM card into the cable's holder (or specific
slot), then you should put the battery there and place the whole
construction into the battery slot. It should connect to the
technological contacts near the SIM card. We recommend to use IR
connection for these models, as technological cable for these model
is not too reliable.
02.02.11Q.
I've bought the cable for 8210/8250 phone for my 5210. The plug is
mainly the same, but it still doesn't connect! 02.02.11A.
The problem is, that not all cables, designed for 8210/8250 phones
will function with 5210 handies. The only way to test compatibility
is to try our evaluation version: www.opm-2.com/download/opm2.zip
02.02.12Q.
What speed should I set for serial RS-232 COM port for cable
connection? 02.02.12A. You should set it to 115200 bit/s,
as it is required for full-duplex F-Bus connection.
02.02.13Q.
I cannot connect my Nokia to Oxygen
Ringtone Workshop with
standard DKU-5 cable.
02.02.13A. We don't support DKU-cable
connectivity yet for Oxygen Ringtone Workshop. We will implement full
DKU support in future versions of Oxygen Ringtone Workshop. However,
we fully support DKU cable connectivity in Oxygen Phone Manager II
02.02.14Q.
How can I connect my 3650 or 7650 with cable to your program? I've
tried the both- Oxygen Phone Manager II and
Oxygen Phone Manager for Symbian phones ,
but nothing happens. What can I do?
02.02.14A. There
is no any way to connect Nokia 3650 or 7650 with cable with Oxygen
Phone Manager for Symbian phones, as these models doesn't have
official cable connection. All cables for these models were designed
for technological service needs and not for data synchronization
purposes. Please, use only Bluetooth or IRDA capable Infra Red device
to connect 3650 or 7650 with Oxygen Phone Manager for Symbian phones.
Common Oxygen Phone Manager II doesn't support Symbian phones. You
should use only Oxygen Phone Manager for Symbian phones to connect
3650 and 7650 models.
02.02.15 Q.
I've tried to connect my 2100 with 8210 cable and nothing happens.
Your program doesn't detect my phone.
02.02.15 A.
The problem is, that 8210 cable are, mainly, incompatible with 2100.
2100 has its own standard.
02.02.16Q.
Can I connect my 8910 or 8910i phones to your program with the
cable? 02.02.16A. We don't support even F-Bus (full duplex,
115200 bit/s) technological cable connection for these phones. You
can connect these phones to our program with IRDA capable Infra Red
adaptor only or bluetooth (for Nokia 8910i).
02.02.17Q.
I have USB cable for data synchronization. I'm using Windows 98 and
I've installed all virtual COM port emulation drivers. Unfortunately,
there are some strange errors with data communication: sometimes it
won't connect, sometimes it may hangup, sometimes it connects, but I
cannot read any data. What can I do? 02.02.17A. Microsoft
corp. had a bug with USB interface under MS Windows 98 SE. You can
download fix utilities and instructions on official Microsoft pages
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en;240075
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en;258773
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en;263218
02.02.18Q.
I've installed DKU-5 cable drivers on my system Windows 98 (or
Millenium). In 'Tools' -> 'Options' -> 'Connection and common'
-> 'Connection' section I've checked the both: correct serial COM
port and DKU-5 setting. When I try to read anything from the phone,
operating system crashes with blue screen What can I do?
02.02.18A.
There is no need to specify virtual COM port directly, if you set
DKU-5 option and vice versa: there is no need to set DKU-5 option, if
you have specified virtual serial port directly and have set cable
type to DLR-3(p). Please, uncheck one of these options to avoid
connection collisions.
02.02.19Q.
What general information should I know about third-party
cables?
02.02.19A. First of all, these cables are
unofficial. It means, that these cables use may be recognize as the
reason for cancelling your phone's warranty in official Nokia service
centre. Also, such cable's manufacturers don't provide manufacturer's
guarantee of these cable. Also, as per our information, some of
third-party cables may not transfer properly color images, polyphonic
tones, JAVA midlets and games and MMS messages. Therefore, we
strongly do not recommend to use third-party connectivity, if any
other official connectivity (official DKU-5 cable, infrared or
bluetooth) is available.
02.02.20Q.
I understand, that changing IRQ (Interrupt Request) is recommended
for professionals only. I am professional, but I've forgotten, how to
change this. Can you help me?
02.02.20A. No problem! How to change IRQ (Interrupt Request) number under MS Windows NT
4.0/2000/XP/2003 Server:
You can change IRQ (Interrupt Request) number in 'Start' -> 'Control
panel' -> 'System' -> 'Hardware' -> 'Device Manager' ->
'Ports COM & LPT' -> right-click on corresponding COM port
number -> select 'Properties' option from the POP-up menu ->
select 'Resources' bookmark -> uncheck 'Automatic tunning
(set-up)' option (name depends on COM port's drivers)
Here you can select another IRQ (Interrupt Request) from already
predefined confingurations or specify another IRQ directly by
selecting 'IRQ' ('Interrup Request') resource and pressing 'Change'
button (may not function with some PC motherboards).
REM.: Some PC motherboards may allow to change IRQ number from BIOS only
(log in during startup session).
Just change your IRQ (Interrupt Request) number to another free one in
your system, or swap IRQ's between Sound chipset/card or mouse and
corresponding serial COM port.
02.02.21Q.
Just professional question: why one needs to change IRQ for COM port
used under MS Windows NT 4.0/2000/XP/2003 Server? 02.02.21A.
The problem is, that some programs or services under MS Windows NT
4.0/2000/XP/2003 Server stop standard IRQ number processing, when it
detects F-Bus. Therefore, you should change IRQ number, used for COM
port, to non-standard one (i.e., not IRQ 3 or IRQ 4). In most cases,
setting IRQ 5 or IRQ 7 works. As per our tests, this problem usually
occurs in cables with automatic F-Bus/M-Bus switch: i.e., F-Bus
signal is not being processed the cable works in M-Bus mode only.
02.02.22Q.
Can I synchronize N-Gage phone with cable, using Oxygen Phone Manager
for Symbian phones? 02.02.22A. As it is stated on official
Nokia N-Gage site
" you
must have Bluetooth
software installed on
your PC..." I.e., the only way to synchronize your N-Gage with
PC is to use bluetooth connection. The situation with cable
connection for this model is similar to the one with 5510 and 3300
models (N-Gage uses even the same cable as 5510- DKE-2)- official USB
cable in all of these models isn't anyhow connected with the phone
section itself. You can only manage MP3 file and memory cards, using
this cable.
02.02.23 Q.
Can I connect my SonyEricsson P800 or P900 phone with your program,
using standard USB cradle? 02.02.23 A.
There seems to be some lock in USB cradle, that doesn't allow
non-SonyEricsson software to syncronize P800 or P900 smartphone with
PC by this cradle. Therefore, we support only infrared wireless
connection for these models.
02.02.24 Q.
When I connect Nokia 3510 or 3510i phone with technological cable, I
see 'Accessory not supported' on the phone's screen. What can I
do? 02.02.24 A. In last
firmwares, Nokia has blocked the possibility to connect your phone
with PC using third-party cable, therefore, we strongly do not
recommend to use unofficial cable connectivity, if any other official
connectivity is available.
02.02.25Q.
Can you give me some printouts, pinouts or schemes, so I could
assemble the cable by myself? 02.02.25A. Unfortunately, we
cannot provide such info, as we don't produce any cables. We can
recommend to try to search for this info in various GSM toplists. For
example, here
02.02.26Q.
Can you specify cable brands, that have passed your tests
successfully? 02.02.26A. At present, only genuine Nokia
DKU-5 cables and Ositech
cables
has passed through our tests successfully. Indeed, original Nokia
DLR-3/DLR-3p and DKU-2 (for 7600, 7610 and 6230 phones in future
versions) should function properly with our software.
02.02.27Q.
If the cable has passed through your tests, does it mean, that you
guarantee, that it will function?
02.02.27A. No. The
final conclusion means, that the samples, we have received, were
bug-free and of highest quality. Indeed, we cannot anyhow be liable
for cable's manufacturer's production and technological process, as
we don't produce these cables.
02.03 InfraRed
02.03.01Q.
I have IR-Port from IR-Wave and your program doesn't work! 02.03.01A.
A. Unfortunately, there exists a number of problems with driver
installation for this model; thus we don't guarantee program support
for this model. Anyhow, we can suggest to do the following: in
Control Panel you shoud set the following properties for IR-device:
INFRARED TRANSCEIVER TYPE -> Sigma Tel 4000
MIN. TURN-AROUND TIME -> 1.0
SPEED ENABLE -> 115200 or 57600
It may function, but we cannot guarantee the result.
02.03.02Q.
I have MS-Windows NT 4.0 and cannot connect the phone using
Infra-Red! 02.03.02A. Infra-Red connectivity as well, as
USB connectivity is not supported by MS-Windows NT 4.0. We can
suggest to use F-Bus cable instead.
02.03.03Q.
I cannot connect 6110, 6130, 6150 or 6190 phones using Infra-Red to
your program! 02.03.03A. Old 6110, 6130, 6150, 6190 phones
had DirectIR protocol. We support only the newer Infra-Red protocol-
IRDA. This protocol is used by 6210, 6310, 7110 and all newer Nokia
phones.
02.03.04Q.
I have a laptop and I have re-installed operating system by myself.
Now IR connection through built-in IR port is lost. What shall I
do? 02.03.04A. We don't recommend our respective customers
to reinstall operating system by theirselves, because Notebooks and
Laptops usually need specific drivers, which could not be found among
Internet. Please, contact you hardware or software provider or IT
company for professional software tunning for your laptop.
02.03.05Q.
I have Sunix/Sigmatel 1800 IR port and your program doesn't
communicate with it. 02.03.05A. Please, try to install your
IR port as 'Sigmatel 4000'. It should function now.
02.03.06Q.
Can I reflash my phone, using infra-red port with your
program? 02.03.06A. Infrared ports doesn't suit for
reflashing and our program doesn't provide such services as well.
Please, contact your nearest authorized official Nokia Service
Centre, if you wish to update your phone's firmware.
02.03.07Q.
I've just updated my Operating System to MS Windows 2003 Server
Enterprise edition and now I cannot connect my phone with Infra Red.
What can I do? 02.03.07A. Enterpise edition of MS Windows
2003- Server doesn't support Infra-Red capabilities. If you wish to
use infrared port in Windows 2003 server interface, you should
downgrade your OS to Windows 2003 Server - Standard edition.
Otherwise, the only way to establish connection is to
use data communication cable.
02.03.08Q.
I have USB Infra Red device for data synchronization. I'm using
Windows 98 and I've installed all drivers properly. Unfortunately,
there are some strange errors with data communication: sometimes it
won't connect, sometimes it may hangup, sometimes it connects, but I
cannot read any data. What can I do? 02.03.08A. Microsoft
corp. had a bug with USB interface under MS Windows 98 SE. You can
download fix utilities and instruction on official Microsoft pages:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en;240075
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en;258773
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en;263218
02.03.09Q.
I have onboard IR port, but, it seems not be enlisted among my
devices?.. 02.03.09A. Please, check, whether you have
enabled IR port in your system BIOS.
02.03.10Q.
I can seed my onboard IR port among my devices, but phone, simply,
doesn't recognize it. 02.03.10A. Please, check, whether
your onboard IR is turned to IRDA mode. Direct IR mode will not
function, as neither our program, nor newer phones do support it.
02.03.11Q.
Can I have several IR devices in my system? 02.03.11A. No.
Only one IR device is allowed.
02.03.12Q.
My phone doesn't have infrared device. Can I upgrade it with any
external infrared? 02.03.12A. Unfortunately, mobile phones,
supported by our program, doesn't have possibility to add new
external infrared.
02.03.13Q.
In IR port's settings, I have two options 'Infrared transceiver A'
and 'Infrared transceiver B'. Which of these should I set at
'Sigmatel 4000' value? And, somehow, I don't see any 'Sigmatel'
option here. 02.03.13A. No problem! Just leave these
options as they are. This IR port is not of Sigmatel type and you
need to set only one option- IR port's speed.
02.03.14Q.
I have IR port, based on Sigmatel chipset. But there is no Sigmatel
4000 option. I can select only Sigmatel 4012 02.03.14A.
Some driver versions of Sigmatel may not have Sigmatel 4000 option,
so you should use 'Sigmatel 4012' option instead. But if your IR port
has such option, you should set it at 'Sigmatel 4000' , as 'Sigmatel
4012' may not function in this very version.
02.03.15Q.
Where can I download the latest Sigmatel port drivers? 02.03.15A.
You can download the latest Sigmatel IR chipset drivers from official
Sigmatel website.
However, we strongly recommend to download Sigmatel device drivers
from IR port's manufacturers, as brand-name IR port manufacturers,
that use Sigmatel chipset, may add some modifications to entire
chipset and/or drivers.
02.03.16Q.
Can I buy IR port from you? 02.03.16A. Unfortunately, no:
we don't produce IR ports either distribute them.
02.03.17Q.
What IR port could you recommend? 02.03.17A. We cannot
recommend any specific port, as we aren't affiliated or associated
with or anyhow related to any IR port manufacturer. The only thing we
can say, that IR port should fully support IRDA protocol, at least,
in one of its modes. However, some of IR ports may require additional
adjustment (see above).
02.03.18Q.
I cannot establish connection, when my antivirus is on. What can I
do? 02.03.18A. Unfortunately, heuristic analyzers of some
antivirus programs may mistakenly block wireless data transfer. In
this case we recommend to disable heuristic analyzer on IR
connection.
02.04 Bluetooth
02.04.01Q.
Do you support Bluetooth connection? 02.04.01A. Of course.
We support Bluetooth connection for 6310i phones with firmware
version 5.50 and later. Bluetooth connection for 8910i phones is also
available. Oxygen Phone Manager for Symbian phones also have full
Bluetooth support for 3650 and 7650 models.
02.04.02Q.
I've connected my 6310i with firmware 5.50 or 8910i with Bluetooth,
using 'Bluetooth serial port' service. Bluetooth slightly functions
and then it disconnects, then reconnects and once again and all
around still. How can I solve this? 02.04.02A. You
shouldn't use 'Bluetooth serial port' service in your bluetooth
hardware program. You should connect your phone only with 'Nokia PC
Suite service'. It will appear after you establish search of
bluetooth devices nearby. After connecting, using this service, you
should specify 'Bluetooth serial port' only in our program in 'Tools'
-> 'Options' -> 'Connection and Common' -> 'Connection'
section -> 'Add port' button. Don't forget to specify right
virtual COM serial port, used for Nokia PC Suite service.
02.04.03Q.
Can I reflash my phone, using Bluetooth device with your
program? 02.04.03A. Bluetooth devices doesn't suit for
reflashing and our program doesn't provide such services as well.
Please, contact your nearest authorized official Nokia Service
Centre, if you wish to update your phone's firmware.
02.04.04Q.
I have USB BlueTooth device for data synchronization. I'm using
Windows 98 and I've installed all drivers properly. Unfortunately,
there are some strange errors with data communication: sometimes it
won't connect, sometimes it may hangup, sometimes it connects, but I
cannot read any data. What can I do? 02.04.04A. Microsoft
corp. had a bug with USB interface under MS Windows 98 SE. You can
download fix utilities and instructions on official Microsoft pages
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en;240075
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en;258773
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en;258773
02.04.05Q.
Do you support bluetooth connection for SonyEricsson P800 and P900
phones in Oxygen
Phone Manager for Symbian OS phones? 02.04.05A.
Not yet, but we are working on it. It is the mainstream of our
development process. For now, we support only InfraRed connection in
Oxygen Phone Manager for Symbian OS phones for SonyEricsson
smartphones.
03 Phonebook
03.01Q.
I have Nokia 8210 phone and my contacts in CSV format. When I'm
importing my contacts from CSV file, each contact splits to several
ones and each of these has only one phone. Why is this so? 03.01A.
8210 phone doesn't support multiple phone numbers per contact.
Therefore, if you have checked 'Create new contact for each phone
number during import', each phone number will be assigned to separate
contact, if you are importing phonebook for the phones, which doesn't
support multiple phone numbers per contact.
03.02Q.
I cannot add any phone number or change address info. What shall I
do? 03.02A. You should click on the corresponding icon near
field's name and then select the operation, you wish to perform (Add,
delete, edit etc.)
03.03Q.
Why synchronization button is not active? 03.03A. We will
implement immediate synchronization function in next versions.
03.04Q.
I wish to develop my own application for the phonebook management. Do
you have any component or ActiveX Control for this purpose? 03.04A.
We don't plan to release such developing tools. You can manage
phonebook with the final product only- with Oxygen
Phone Manager II .
03.05Q.
I saved my 3300's phonebook on memory card. Can I read this with your
program? 03.05A. We don't support memory cards management
for 3300 phone. There is no need to write your agenda to memory card.
You can read it directly, using technological F-Bus (full dpulex,
115200 bit/s) cable, which connects under the phone's battery.
03.06Q.
I have some contacts in my phone's phonebook and in your program.
I've changed some contacts on the phonebook and in program also
(independently). Now I wish to choose, what contacts I should keep in
my phonebook, or leave on disk or just erase. Please, help
me! 03.06A. No problem. Just remember what contacts you
have edited in your phone's phonebook, make duplicate copies of these
contacts in Oxygen Phone Manager II and read the phonebook from the
phone. Contents of original contacts will be replaced with new data
and old data will also be saved in duplicate copies.
04 Calendar
04.01Q.
Why the calendar is not enlisted among registered program's
features? 04.01A. The calendar comes in beta-version yet
and it is not implemented officially. We will support calendar
officially in future versions.
04.02Q.
What formats do you support for Import in Calendar section? 04.02A.
We support MS Outlook events (all or selected) import.
04.03Q.
Do you plan to support Calendar for 32**/33**/34**/35**/5510
models? 04.03A. This models don't have Calendar at all.
There is only simple planner. Unfortunately, firmwares for these
devices don't allow to synchronize planner with PC. If you need to
manage agenda, we recommend to use more advanced models, such as
6310i, 7210 etc.
04.04Q.

delete the registry section HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Oxygen\Oxygen
Phone Manager II\LogoEditor. After that run the program. All toolbars
should be visible.
05.02Q.
I have Nokia phone of 1900 GSM standard. I cannot update operator or

whether such operation is permitted.
05.03Q.

in your program? 05.03A. Of course! Built-in Logo Editor
(tm) has some limitations in this case: you can edit any images on
standard field with size of 128x128 pixels. From Logo Editor (tm) you
can open desired files by pressing on 'Disk' sign. To upload file to
the phone, you should select 'Write to phone' button (first button

I've set my colour picture as operator logo, using your Gallery
Manager (tm). Now I cannot download any coloured Operator Logo using
WAP (OTA) or receive it by SMS, MMS or GPRS. 05.06 A.
This is a feature of Nokia's firmware for the newer phones 3510i,
3530, 5100, 6100, 6200, 6610, 6800, 7210, 7250, 8910i: if you will
set your custom picture as operator logo using any external program,
the phone will switch itself automatically in another mode, which
enables to upload logos using only external programs. If you wish to
upload pictures, using WAP (OTA), you should re-update your phone's
firmware in official Nokia service-centre. All external phone
management programs act this way.
05.07 Q.

program? 05.12 A. We don't
support such feature, as our program suits only for common data

06.02Q.
Can I send polyphonic ringtones, using your program? 06.02A.

ringtones are too large for SMS sending. If you wish to send
polyphonic ringtone, you can add this in our MMS Manager.
06.03Q.
Can I send colour pictures, using SMS? 06.03A. We support
black and white pictures only with SMS technology. Therefore we
suggest to transfer your pictures into black and white format or to
add colour images to MMS contents in MMS Manager.
06.04Q.
I need to send a lot of SMS messages to multiple recepients (2-3
hundreds or more). I don't need other program's functions at all. Can
you suggest us some easy way to perform this operation? 06.04A.
In this case we can suggest to develop specific SMS application using
one of our developing tools:
Oxygen Mobile ActiveX Control www.smsactivex.net
- ActiveX Control for SMS, Gallery tones and images, plain logos and
tones management and JAVA midlets and games management.
TOxygenSMSActivex Component
www.oxygensoftware.co.uk/products/tsms
- Delphi component for SMS technology and calendar management
06.05Q.
Do you have any components or ActiveX Controls for MMS
Management? 06.05A. We don't have any developing tools for
MMS technology yet but, of course, we are study the all possible

Unfortunately, we don't provide such option.
06.08Q.

06.09Q.

(3560, 3585, 3585i, 3586 6340i, 6360, 6370, 6385)? 06.09A.
We don't support SMS Management for non-GSM phones, as the entire
protocol for CDMA and DAMPS phones differs from GSM one.
06.10Q.
I am using Nokia 5110, 6110, 6210 or 6310(i) with third-party USB
cable and it doesn't send SMS messages. What can I do? 06.10A.
You should adjust virtual COM port's speed at 115200 bit/s value in
'Control panel' -> 'System' -> 'Hardware' -> 'Device
manager' -> 'Ports Com & LPT' for Windows 2000/XP/2003 Server
or 'Control panel' -> 'System' -> 'Devices' for MS Windows 98

6310i? 07.04A. You can upload JAVA midlets only to 6310i
phone, you cannot upload JAVA midlets to common 6310 due to its
general technical specifications, which are not JAVA capable. 6310
and 6310i phones are rather different inside, therefore we don't
recommend to reflash 6310 with 6310i fimrware, as it may seriously
damage your phone. In general, we recommend to perform any operations
with firmware in official Nokia service centres only.
07.05Q.

08.12Q.
Is your program compatible with Windows CE operating system and other
PDA operating systems? 08.12A. No. We don't support

prior taks, but we cannot say precisely, when we will implement
support for such devices.
08.13Q.

Why do you ask hosting companies to close sites, which provide pirate
copies of your software? I want it for free! 09.18A. The
problem is, that so-called 'crackers' strongly spoil entire code of
the program and this may lead to unpredictable cosequences. As you
can see, such 'garbled' unathorized copies strongly affect our
reputation, therefore we will continue asking our respective
colleagues to remove links to pirated, cracked or unauthorized copies
of our software.
09.19Q.
I require guarantees, that your software will not do any harm to my
system. Can you guarantee this? 09.19A. Unfortunately, for
us it isn't possible to send our colleagues to monitor installation
and program operation processes as well, as to control quality of
each connectivity device or control electricity in your network.
Therefore, we clearly state, that we are not liable for any proper or
improper, use or misuse of our program. We can only say, that the
most of the problems are caused by defects in connectivity devices,
therefore we strongly do not recommend to use unofficial cables from
the third-party manufacturers.
09.20Q.
Do you add any spyware in your Oxygen Phone Manager II? 09.20A.
No. We don't think, that it is quite good way of making business.
Also, it is strongly against our ethics principles.
09.21Q.
Why don't you give any warranties and don't guarantee connectivity
device functionality? You should guarantee this, as you specify, that
you support certain type of connection! 09.21A.
Unfortunately, we cannot agree with this statement. We support
connectivity device on software level, but, unfortunately, we cannot
guarantee, that any connectivity device will correspond these
software standards. For example, Sigmatel-based IR ports need special
adjustment, as well, as thrid-party USB cables as well as serial may
require speed value increase (from 9600 bit/s to 115200 bit/s). Also
we cannot give any warranties on connectivity device defects or its
compatibility with operating system, as we produce neither cables,
nor operating systems. Therefore, we prefer to state clearly, that
you are using the program on your own risk.
10 General Questions
10.01Q.
I cannot access internet, using your program! 10.01A. You
don't need any special program to access Internet. You should just
download standard drivers and install your phone as common modem,
using these drivers.
10.02Q.
Can I re-flash my phone, change IMEI or ESN number or firmware
version? 10.02A. We are not authorized to provide such
services, therefore we haven't implemented such capabilities in our
program. Changing IMEI (for GSM) or ESN (for DAMPS phones) is illegal
and is strictly prohibited by International and Russian laws. If you
wish to update your phone's firmware, we can suggest to contacl local
authorized Nokia service centre.
10.03Q.
Can I activate network monitor for newer Nokias beginning with 6310,
3410, 6310i, 3510 etc? 10.03A. Such operation is prohibited
by Nokia. If you need Network Monitor for newer Nokia models, you
should contact local Nokia branch and provide official request from
your company (which should be cellular network connection or service
provider), and corresponding certificate, diplomas and licenses,
which should ratify your qualification. As we know, in this case
local Nokia branch could change your phone to the same with Network
Monitor on for additional price. If you still need Network Monitor
and you cannot provide such data, we can recommend to use older
models: 6210 or 5130, for example. We do support Network Monitor
functionality for these older models.
10.04Q.
Can I unlock my phone, using your software? 10.04A.
Unlocking is illegal in Russia, therefore we don't provide such
capability in our program.
10.05Q.
Can I manage Nokia Wallet (in 6310i phone, for example) with your
program? 10.05A. This feature is banned by Nokia, due to
the high security level, therefore you cannot manage Nokia Wallet
using any software.
10.06Q.
I've forgot my PIN code and typed it wrong three times. Now my phone
is block. Can I remove this block with your program? 10.06A.
We don't provide such option. Please, contact your cellular network
operator.
10.07Q.
Can I clone and combine SIM cards with your program? I want to use 2
SIM cards with my Nokia and it has only one SIM card slot. 10.07A.
We are not authorized to support such function. SIM cloning is
illegal and is strictly prohibited by International laws. If you need
to use 2 SIM cards, we can suggest to use Benefon Twin phone. It is
the only phone, which supports 2 SIM cards officially, therefore
there is no need of cloning and combinig SIM cards.
10.08Q.
Can I output phone's conversation to my speakers, using multimedia
soundcard? 10.08A. Unfortunately, our program doesn't
support this very function, but we support voice recorder for voice
recorder capable phones. You can download, upload, backup and delete
already recorded conversations.
10.09Q.
I've got some strange errormessage, while using your program. How can
I make a screenshot of errormessage, so I could send it to
you? 10.09A. If it is our program's standard errormessage,
you shoud just copy the text from it and paste it to the letter and
send it to our support e-mail address support@opm-2.com. In other
case you should press 'PrintScreen' ('PrtScr', 'PtSc') button, when
the error appears- it will copy entire image to clipboard. Then you
should paste it in your standard editor for images ('Edit' ->
'Paste' or Ctrl + V (Shift + Ins) key sequence). Please, send this
screenshot to us.
Please note: we accept images, saved in .PNG, .GIF, .PCX, .JPG/.JPEG formats
only. You should paste this picture in HTML or RTF format e-mail
message (attacment could be cut by our anti-virus program).
10.10Q.
I wish to translate your program into my native language. How can I
do so? 10.10A. Please, send us your request, using our
standard support
service and we will have a look at your proposal.
10.11Q.
I've seen your address at www.oxygensoftware.co.uk/about
May I bring my phone and cable (IR port) to your office, so you could set my cable up? 10.11A.
Unfortunately, we don't provide such services. We cannot guarantee, that any cable corresponds all standards, also we don't produce any
cable, therefore, we cannot provide such service.
10.12Q.
Should I disable my firewall during program run and/or
registration? 10.12A. No, as we don't use any direct access
to your copy of our program. You can work with our program under MS
Windows standard 'Port security' and 'Internet Connection Firewall'
components without any problems, as well, as with any other firewall
or proxy-server.
10.13Q.
Can I update my 3310 phone to 3315 using your program? 10.13A.
No. Our program doesn't change phone's firmware.
11 General system errors
11.01Q.
I am using MS Windows 95 and cannot even start you software. 11.01A.
We don't support MS Windows 95 in later versions of Oxygen Phone
Manager II as certain newer components may be incompatible with
Windows 95. If you have just ordered Oxygen Phone Manager II, we can
suggest to downgrade your program's version. You can download
previous full versions of Oxygen Phone Manager II from your
registered customer's page and request Oxygen Phone Manager I from
our technical
support service.
11.02Q.
What can be the possible cause of so-called 'Blue screens of death'
under MS -Windows 95/98/ME? 11.02A. There could be several
reasons. The only thing, we can say, is, that 'blue screen of death'
is always operating system's fault.
1)In most cases it is involved by video card's conflictd. In this case,
just, update your video card's drivers to the latest version. If you
have onboard video card installed, but you are using additional PCI
card, please, disable onboard video chipset in system BIOS.
2) Also this problem may occur, if you will specify DKU-5 option in
'Tools' -> 'Option' -> 'Connection and common' ->
'Connection' section and at the same time direct number of virtual
COM port ('Add port' button). You should select only the one of
connectivity types.
3) Also an error may occur in case, if you are using non-standard
desktop theme or graphical user enviroment. Here is a short overview
of known problems of non-standard desktop themes:
Using the context.exe ( http://www.maddogsw.com/cmdutils )
-- crashes
Command line of 4NT ( http://www.jpsoft.com )-- crashes
ZTreeWin ( http://www.ztree.com ) 'Open' command -- crashes
ZTreeWin 'eXecute' command -- OK
Our program runs also
without any problem from keyboard shortcut, 'cmd' commandline or
standard MS Windows Explorer. If you will find, that some
non-standard desktop theme or shell doesn't function properly with
our program, we would be thankful for such information. Please, send
your notices here .
11.03Q.
I cannot apply activation keycode. I'm always getting an
error! 11.03A. Please, make sure that you are using correct
version of keycode. Keycode from previous program version may not
function with newer program version and vice versa. You can always
request the latest keycode from your personal registered customer's
page. Also, please, check, whether you have set correct date and time
in your operating system. Incorrect date may block data registration.
